Part 3

May 8- That same evening after we came back from Las Vegas, we visited Joey and Jamie and their new baby boy Miles, who was born on May 7. We were so excited to see this new addition to the Hislop family! Welcome to parenthood, Joey and Jamie!!! : )
Rainny's got a new cousin!
Adam and I got to hold our one-day old nephew Miles for the first time. He was so little and so cute and so calm! It's hard to imagine Rainny being even smaller than him when she was born. I guess I just quickly forgot how tiny a newborn baby is...haha
May 11- Samantha brought her kids over and I was surprised to see how big Sophie has got! She's a chunky cutie! : )
Rainny and her cousin Sophie chilling in the crib(pic taken 9 months ago). Both of them didn't have a lot of hair at that time...heehee
So nice to see these two playing with each other 9 months later.
Swing, swing, swing
Rainny really enjoyed swinging high up in the air. But maybe this was a little bit too high?!...
I wasn't going to put these two pictures on my blog, but they're just so funny to look at (especially the second pic). I think Adam did a good job capturing the funny scared look on Rainny's face...hahaha!!!
We took Rainny to feed the ducks and geese in Logan, but she was more interested in looking at the water than feeding her two feet friends.
She was signing "water" to Daddy...so, we both knew exactly what she was up to...
The next thing you know it, she was walking in the water (despite the fact that it was freezing cold). We knew this would happen anyway because it is difficult to keep this girl away from anything that has H2O... ^o^

Part 2

Driving under supervision...

Grocery shopping!

Trip to Las Vegas5/4- The second weekend in the U.S., we decided to drive down to Las Vegas. After driving for 7 hours long, we finally made it to Excalibur, the hotel where we stayed for 4 nights(all because of their 10'' pool). Just when we thought we could finally get some rest and begin enjoying our little vacation there, for some reason Rainny started crying and screaming as soon as we walked in the room and she would only stop when Adam took her out. So,we had no choice but to switch to a different room and it was so tiring because we had to carry all of our stuff downstairs to the lobby, wait in line to check in again and walk through the casino to get to the other side of the hotel. The first couple of nights in Vegas were just straight nightmare. Rainny just cried and cried and cried all night! It was probably the most stressful vacation I've ever had in my life. But it's all worth it when I saw that big happy smile on her face when we took her swimming.
She was so happy and laughing the whole time in the pool. : )
During our 4 days vacation in Vegas, we were still able to go places and do some sightseeing other than just taking Rainny swimming every day. Adam and I went on the roller coaster ride at New York New York (Well, we took turns while the other watched Rainny). It was so fun! I love scary rides! We also went to the Tournament of Kings dinner show where we ate dinner with our hands. Again, Rainny was crying and being incredibly fussy when the show started, but she got really excited when she saw the horses coming out and was enjoying herself as the show went on. When it ended, everyone was clapping and so was Rainny!
We woke up at 5:00am on Thursday and decided to take one last pic of Rainny and the castle before we left Las Vegas.
Rainny was totally out when we got home! Hahaha...

Pictures from our trip to America-part 1

4/21-Arriving in San Francisco one hour earlier than scheduled arrival time, which led us to 5 hours layover at the airport, meaning plenty of playing time for Rainny! Good for her but, not so much for us... : p
Rainny's first time in a swing.
4/24- A cold snowy day in Logan! We went out to lunch with Adam's parents. Before that, we had to take Rainny to see the doctor because she started having some pretty bad rash few hours after we were on the plane and we were not sure what caused it, and it turned out to be Eczema, an inherited type of sensitive, dry skin. So, the doctor prescribed "steroid cream" to treat Rainny's dry skin problem and well, it works! Ha!
4/27- We're so glad we got to hang out with some of our good friends in Salt Lake. It feels just like the old days! Shawn and Amei, thank you guys so much for your hospitality and for letting us stay over when we came visit. : )
5/25-The wonderful Doney family invited us over for dinner. Kuei went it all out making lots of yummy food for everybody that evening. They're moving to Nebraska in June and we don't know when we'll be able to see them again. So, it was very nice to hang out with their family before they move. It seems like our two families have at least two things in common: 1. Both Sheldon(big Yankee fan)and Adam(big Dodgers fan) love baseball so much that the two of them can talk about it forever...haha! 2. Interestingly enough that 2006 seemed like a baby booming year for the 39th Chinese ward. There were probably 8+ women pregnant that year, but only Kuei and I were both due in March. So, we pretty much watched each other's belly grow bigger and bigger as days went by and we even had a baby shower together! We will definitely miss you guys! : )
Look at these two little cuties strolling together!
Keane (3.13.2007) and Rainny (3.17.2007) were only born 4 days apart.
From left to right: Shawn, Adam, Brighton, Sheldon, Keane and Charles
After dinner, everybody went for a walk outside their apartment by Gateway.
And then I had no idea who suggested that the guys should race. They look like they all want to finish first...hahaha...

Back in Taiwan!

After 16+ hours' plane ride from Salk Lake to San Francisco to Taipei(the actual total traveling time we spent was 22 hours), we finally made it to Taiwan on Wednesday and we were exhausted! But luckily, Rainny had been pretty good during the plane ride 90% of the time...thanks to the portable DVD player Daddy got the day before we left (We loved it!). We did give Rainny a tiny bit of Benadryl in the last couple of hours before we landed just to make her sleep, but I think Rainny would probably be just fine even without it.

We are still getting used to the time difference. The three of us wake up at 4:00am in the morning 2 days in a row now. But because of that, we were able to talk to my sister on MSN yesterday, who is still in Spain visiting her boyfriend Zaki. We finally have the excuse to go to Europe now...hahaha...maybe after we save enough money. Traveling is just getting more expensive now.Rainny's signature "Pig Face!"
By the way, "Happy Father's Day to All You Great Dads in America!"
Daddy you are No.1!!!

Rainny & Grandpa Hislop's Funny Video!

Grandpa Hislop was playing with Rainny when we were eating at Olive Garden one day. He was making her laugh so hard! And I think ever since that day, Rainny would just move her hands like that whenever she sees Grandpa. Isn't it funny? I guess Rainny really loves it! : )
